Material | Steel portal frame, concrete pad foundations, prestressed concrete push walls, ground bearing slabs, reinforced concrete retaining walls |
A large grain store consisting of a double-span steel portal frame with two eaves levels and four ridge levels.
Prestressed concrete panels are laterally supported by the steel frame to retain 3.0m height of stored grain. Ground bearing slabs were provided at two levels due to the site gradient. Additional foundations were provided for grain drying equipment, incorporating a 20m x 2.3m x 1.35m deep intake pit for loading the grain drier. A conveyor system supported by the roof steelwork distributes the dried grain through the store.
