      FULL FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS

MasterSeries 2023 includes over 30 features and upgrades across many MasterSeries modules.

MasterKey Concrete FE Slab & Wall Design
New Finite Element Surface 'Shear Wall design' features:

      • Wall Pier and coupling beam design
      • Auto generation of design zones
      • Auto design of reinforcement
      • High level of control over design methodology
      • DXF/DWG export

      MasterKey: Concrete Design

      • Pad design for EC7 Direct method. Previous version of MasterSeries only designed to the ‘Prescriptive’ method 6.4(5). The includes calculation of ultimate soil bearing pressure from soil properties for Design Approach 1 - Combination (Set B) and Combination 2 (Set C). Included in both Integrated design and stand-alone Pad design.

      MasterFrame: Space Frame Analysis

      • New frame statistics, giving a much more comprehensive coverage, including FE surface material, areas loading floor plate materials and composite beam pc unit or deck areas. Fine-grained control over filtering and categorisation for reporting.
      • Large model speed optimizations
      • Concrete and timber design groups included for view filtering

      MasterFrame: Finite Element Analysis

      • P-Delta analysis now included in models with Finite Element Surfaces.
      • In result section diagrams, a new force output for the in-plane moment Mz, which is calculated from the direct force in the direction of the section line x the lever arm perpendicular to the section line over the specified strip width.
      • For Mz moment above, option to view the ‘lack or correlation’ of the Mz moment linear stress distribution to the actual stress in the direction of the section line.
      • View FE Surface Name label and Edge Restraints label on frame graphics

MasterKey: Steel Moment & Simple Connections

        • In ‘Beam to Column’ moment connections the beam can be a hollow section with extended end plate bolts
        • In ‘Cap Beam’ moment connections the column can be a hollow section with extended end plate bolts
        • Option to specify ‘User designed supplemental shear reinforcement provided’.
        • Option to specify ‘Beam to Column’ or ‘Cap beam’ moment connection compression flange as bearing fit, hence negating the need to design compression welds.
        • Beams and Column I section splice connections can have a different grade of plate for the flange and web plates.
        • New more accurate model for bracing connection gusset plate weld force distribution from brace force.
Note: The release of our beam to beam toe-plate simple connection has been withheld, pending further research

        The Best of the Rest

        • MasterKey: Masonry Design - Vertical Load take-down load distribution drawing at wall mid height region.
        • MasterCAD: BIM
          • Revit Link - 2024 update
          • In MasterPort optional dimensioning of purlins/side rails and stays in 2D GA drawing
          • MasterSeries-Tekla link – bi-directional link for cellular beams and beams with discrete opening
        • MasterKey: Pile Cap Design - 'Horizontal Column Base Shear Force' times the 'Pile Cap Depth' additional moment, is now taken in the Pile Cap Design moment.
